Lisbon, 1918. Irene is on a very simple mission. Prevent Beatriz Costa as a child from losing her voice. The mission is a success but a dangerous epidemic is plaguing Portugal this year. There are thousands infected and other thousands dead. And Irene realizes, even before returning to 2016, that she is infected. It is most likely to die without being able to return to the present. In 2016, Susana doesn't settle for the news that her girlfriend is in 1918, during the deadliest epidemic of the 20th century. Contrary to the advice of everyone around her, she commands Irene to be brought into the 21st century. Even if in doing so she runs the risk of infecting the modern world with a dangerous virus for which no cure has ever been found. Irene is brought into the present. The doctors of the Ministério do Tempo confirm the disease quickly. This is the Spanish flu. The same that at the end of the second decade of the twentieth century was responsible for more deaths than the First World War. Despite the efforts of Susana and the medical team, Irene does not improve ... And the infection spreads through the Ministério. A quarantine is decreed. And the number of patients starts to increase exponentially. In the meantime, Pacino learns that the doctor is enjoying the coming of the virus for the twentieth century in a terrible way. As in the past, the Spanish flu will cause victims in the 21st century. Afonso, Irene, Pessoa and other Ministry officials who are ill know that the mortality rate is great ... And that even today, there is no known cure.
